If you’ve been injured in a road traffic accident in Victoria, you may be eligible to claim the cost of physiotherapy services through the Transport Accident Commission (TAC). At Keilor Road Physiotherapy, we offer TAC physio with no GAP fee. We’re dedicated to guiding you through the recovery process, providing expert care every step of the way.

For clients with an approved TAC plan, we offer NO GAP FEE physiotherapy services. This means you can see one of our associate physiotherapists without any out-of-pocket expenses. Our associate physiotherapists are all experts in the treatment of motor vehicle injuries and providing TAC physiotherapy.

ALL of our physiotherapists have had extra training through the Early Intervention Physiotherapy Framework (EIPF). This means they have extensive experience in treating TAC injuries, ensuring you receive expert, hands on care and the latest evidence based active rehabilitation – all under the guidance of Specialist Physiotherapist, Dr. Jenny Hynes.

Keilor Road Physiotherapy prides itself on using the latest evidence based treatment techniques, coupled with the latest technology when it comes to reaching our patients goals. This includes an onsite rehabilitation studio with new Precor gym equipment and our reformer Pilates studio, equipped with Balanced Body Allegro II reformers. We also utilise AxIT strength assessment dynamometry so we can tailor your rehabilitation plan to your specific needs.

Not only do you receive the most advanced physiotherapy treatment, but our award winning client experience team will look after all of your correspondence with TAC including billing, accessing more treatment if it’s required and your certificates of capacity.  

5. Longer consult times

We dedicate at least 40mins to your initial consult, making sure we have time to know precisely what your goals are and put a plan in place to achieve them. We also allow up to 20mins for your follow-up consults.

What you need to make a TAC claim

To access TAC funding for physiotherapy, you will need the following when attending your appointment:

• TAC Claim Number: Ensure you have your TAC claim number.

• Accident Date: Provide the date of the accident.

• Case Manager Details: If assigned, the name and contact details of your case manager.

• Treatment Approval Letter: The treatment approval letter from TAC. If you don’t have this letter, please contact the TAC.

Approved TAC claims generally cover treatment for the first 90 days after the accident. If you require ongoing treatment, it is easy for us to request further funding through correspondence with TAC. For more information on how to make a TAC claim, you can use this link to the TAC website.

Appointment information

No gap fee physiotherapy

• Associate Physiotherapist: NO GAP

• Senior Physiotherapist (Post Graduate trained): We do charge a gap fee to see our senior physiotherapists. Please call reception for further information. 

Private health insurance can cover some or all of the gap payment, depending on your policy. Please check with your health insurance provider. 

What if I don’t have current TAC treatment approval?

If it has been more than six months since your last treatment for an injury related to a road traffic accident, or if you don’t have an approved TAC treatment plan:

• Contact TAC before your appointment: Seek approval for further treatment.

• Pay full fee upfront: Pay the full fee at the time of your appointment. Your physiotherapist will then complete and submit a new treatment plan to TAC for approval. Once approved, TAC will reimburse some or all of the appointment fee.
