Tom Bevan-Shannon
Physiotherapist
Tom completed a bachelor of Exercise Science from LaTrobe University before completing his Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Technology Sydney.
Tom has also completed a year long internship at Exercise Research Australia and he worked as a personal trainer for 4 years before becoming a Physiotherapist which has helped him develop a keen interest in exercise based rehab. He has since worked as a sports trainer in Sydney’s premier AFL division as well as junior elite soccer programs for Football Federation Victoria. This year Tom is the Physio for Essendon Royals FC and the Fremantle Dockers AFLW side.
Tom has a keen interest in treating musculoskeletal injuries and in post injury rehabilitation and loves to help clients restore confidence in their body. He also enjoys working with older clients, using exercise to manage and prevent osteoarthritis and falls. Treatment with Tom has a focus on patient education and he uses his background in Exercise Science to utilise strength & movement based rehab in combination with manual therapy skills to deliver results for clients.
Outside of the clinic you’ll find Tom running the hills of Melbourne or in the gym. In the winter months Tom plays local footy and in the summer months he competes in triathlons. When he is not exercising, Tom loves a good coffee over brunch and walking his French Bulldog Frankie.
